Texthelp: A little help goes everywhere

Small helpers. Big difference. Four Texthelper characters on a wire

Texthelp is the world leader in assistive technology for people for whom literacy doesn’t always come easily. We gave it a new masterbrand built around a cast of small helpers.

Underground posters: When words disappear, we step in, and Here to help words flow

Challenge

Texthelp’s identity no longer reflected the warmth and optimism at the heart of its mission. It felt dated, inconsistent and corporate.

It had to work for education and enterprise, while speaking to the people Texthelp exists to support.

Solution

The best help doesn’t feel like a tool. It feels like a friend. So we created “The Texthelpers”: playful characters made from speech bubbles, there whenever you need a little help.

Around them, we drew an illustrated world from everyday life: the classroom, the office, the living room, the bus. It gives the characters a stage for every product and story.

It makes assistive technology feel less clinical and more personal.

Social stories: Little helpers. Big words.

The result

One character system now runs across every product, from the classroom to the workplace. The work won Bronze for Best Visual Identity in Technology, Media and Telecoms at the 2015 Transform Awards Europe.
